A new project has been implemented for local residents in the southern region

EPSAYA public union has implemented a project called “Promotion of a healthy lifestyle in the fight against COVID-19” in the southern region. The project was implemented with the 7000 (seven thousand) manats financial support of the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Azerbaijan Republic. The aim of the project was to inform the society about the fight against COVID-19, providing them with the necessary hygiene facilities and medical supplies, distribute food aid packages to relevant low-income families suffering from health problems, to promote a healthy lifestyle in society. The project lasted for 3 months and covered the period from August 5 to November 5, 2020. Overall 12 volunteers aged 18-29 from Lankaran, Jalilabad, Masalli and Astara regions were selected, instructions on how to behave during the pandemic were prepared for them and they were provided with necessary hygienic means (disinfectant gel, alcohol, etc.) and medical supplies (masks, gloves, etc.) within the framework of the project, which includes the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among the population in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The young people who have been instructed and provided with necessary materials distributed booklets, hygienic means and medical supplies as well as informing the population in public places in Lankaran, Jalilabad, Masalli and Astara districts. At the same time, 20 low-income families with health problems were identified and provided directly with the necessary food assistance packages. So that, on October 3, 2020, 1200 medical masks, 250 booklets and 50 disinfectant gels were distributed among the local residents including extensive informing the population in Gala Avenue Street, Shirali Akhundov Street and Hazi Aslanov Avenue Street in Lankaran city in frame of the fight against COVID-19. In addition, 5 low-income families with health problems were provided with the necessary food assistance packages in the city and district (Vilvan village, Taza Digah village). On October 10, 2020, 1200 medical masks, 250 booklets and 50 disinfectant gels were distributed among the local residents including extensive informing the population in Heydar Aliyev Avenue and in the area called the Bazaar in Masalli city in frame of the fight against COVID-19. In addition, 5 low-income families with health problems were provided with the necessary food assistance packages in the city and district (Arkivan settlement, Badalan village, Gizilagaj village). On October 17, 2020, 1200 medical masks, 250 booklets and 50 disinfectant gels were distributed among the local residents including extensive informing the population in Istiqlaliyyat Street and in the area called the Bazaar in Astara city in frame of the fight against COVID-19. In addition, 5 low-income families with health problems were provided with the necessary food assistance packages in the district (Tulaguvan, Ojakaran, Aghkorpu and Sim villages). On October 24, 2020, 1200 medical masks, 250 booklets and 50 disinfectant gels were distributed among the local residents including extensive informing the population in Heydar Aliyev Avenue, Heydar Aliyev Seyrangah and Heydar Aliyev Park in Jalilabad city in frame of the fight against COVID-19. In addition, 5 low-income families with health problems were provided with the necessary food assistance packages in the city and district (Goytapa city, Uzuntapa village). In the end, a total of 12 young people volunteering in the project were awarded by the organization with special short-sleeved shirts and relevant certificates.
