On Sebtember 20 of the current year “Education” Public Support Association of Youth of Azerbaijan (EPSAYA) public union implemented a half-day training course in connection with the project “Enlightenment about climate change and its impacts on the environment” for 27 young people in Lankaran Youth House in Lankaran city with the financial support (9000 manat) of the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Azerbaijan Republic. 27 young people aged 16-29, 18 girls and 9 boys have participated in the training course with the support of the Lankaran-Astara Regional Youth and Sport Department in Lankaran region. Besides the staff of the organization Mrs. Ulkar Nagizada, the representative of Lankaran-Astara Regional Youth and Sport Department, as a guest, Mr. Samir Salayev, head of the Training and Education Center of Azerbaijan University, internationally certified trainer, doctoral student, as a trainer-expert, and Mr. Feyruz Amanullayev, member of the Lankaran District Bar Association have participated in the training course, shared their knowledge and experiences with the youth and answered the questions of the participants. During the training course the staff and the participants discussed a lot of themes in the field of climate change and its impacts on the environment – “Climate change, its effects on the environment and society, Environmental protection, protection of forests and water resources, Waste and their management, Natural resources, their types, alternative energy sources and Ecological law: Environmental legislation - use of nature and nature protection” as well as watching to the different social videos related to the topics throughout the entire session. During the training course the staff used different interactive methods, such as presentations, brain storming, focus group discussions, interactive group works, energizers, mutual exchange of ideas with participants and experts. All participants were presented with relevant certificates and short-sleeved shirts with the logo of the NGO Agency and the organization and the project name written on them in the end of the training course. In the end the participants and the staff, as well as the guests and the experts gave their views on the project and thanked to the donor – the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Azerbaijan Republic for implementing such kind of actual project for the local youth. It should be noted that the aim of the 3-month project covering the dates of August 01 – October 31, 2025 is to organize enlightenment and awareness of local youth about climate change and its impacts on the environment on a regional scale in connection with the development of environmental consciousness, environmental education and environmental culture. Let us add that the next training courses will be held in Masalli on 27.09.2025, in Astara on 04.10.2025, and in Jalilabad on 11.10.2025 with the support of the Lankaran-Astara Regional Youth and Sport Department.
